The Faculty of Arts, Assumption University, proudly congratulates three undergraduate students on successfully presenting their research papers at the 11th National Undergraduate Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences, organized by the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Prince of Songkla University. The conference was held online on October 26, 2026, under the theme “คุณ (มี) ค่า: พินิจอัตลักษณ์ คุณค่า และมูลค่า.”
Representing two academic programs of the School, the students presented two research papers addressing contemporary issues in education, technology, and sustainability.
Ms. Tanatchaporn Chiraboworn and Ms. Patcharaporn Mongpraneet, students from the Business English program, presented their research paper entitled “Undergraduate Students’ Perceptions of the Benefits and Concerns of Using ChatGPT for English Writing at Assumption University.” The study explored students’ perspectives on the benefits and potential concerns associated with using ChatGPT to support English writing.
Meanwhile, Jesse Max Santamena, a student from the English-Chinese for Digital Communication program, presented a research paper entitled “Sustainability in Academia: Investigating Student Awareness and Institutional Practices for SDGs.” The research focused on sustainability in higher education, particularly student awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and institutional practices related to sustainable development.
Both research projects were conducted under the academic supervision and guidance of Dr. Rusma Kalra, who provided mentorship and support throughout the research and presentation process.
All three students received certificates of presentation in recognition of their participation in the conference. This academic experience provided a valuable opportunity to share their research, engage with the academic community, and further develop their research and academic communication skills.
The Faculty of Arts extends its sincere congratulations to the students and expresses its appreciation to Dr. Rusma Kalra for her dedication to supporting undergraduate research. Their participation reflects the School’s continued commitment to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and research engagement among its students.
