On December 3, 2025, students in JA3724 Aspects of Japan participated in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony to deepen their understanding and practice of Japanese culture. Dressed in Japanese attire, the students received instruction in the formal etiquette of the tea ceremony from Japanese instructor A. Motomi Uehara and courteously served tea and traditional Japanese sweets to our distinguished guests.
The tea ceremony places great importance on performing each movement with care and showing respect toward others. The values embodied in this practice offer meaningful guidance for fostering considerate interpersonal relationships and for approaching one’s professional endeavors with mindfulness and sincerity.
